Microbiologist, Scientist, Inventor.

Raul Cuero, PhD in Microbiology from Strathclyde University, UK, MSc in Plant Pathology from Ohio State University, USA, and a BSc from Heidelberg University, USA, and Biology degree from Universidad del Valle, Colombia. He is a former Distinguished Professor and Research Scientist of Texas A&M University System on the Campus of Prairie View, Texas. Currently, he is Chief Scientific Advisor of BioCapital Holdings, LLC, Houston, USA and founder/scientist/mentor of the International Park of Creativity, whose main aim is invention/discovery (www.ipoc.co). He is a former research associate for the USDA. He has 26 scientific inventions of which 16 have been granted patents by the U.S. patent office and 9 pantents pending, 2 new inventions including Greenlight and expression COVID 19 antibodies, in addition to numerous publications in different scientific and technological fields including biotechnology, microbiology, molecular biology, synthetic and integrated biology, environmental and energy biotechnology, and exobiology. He is also an international consultant in the area of biotechnology and for building capacity in the creative sciences and/or technologies.  He has received several honorary doctorate degrees. He has received the NASA Brief Technology Award for his inventions as a co-author with the late Dr. David McKay, former NASA scientist. He has written books on creativity and on the effects of loneliness as a source of creativity and production, in addition to his autobiography. Currently, he is writing a book on the understanding of the dilemma of the absence of life despite the presence of water, especially under extreme terrestrial or extraterrestrial conditions.
